An 88-year-old woman was killed Friday evening in a head-on DUI-related crash Friday evening, Tucson police said.
Dorothy Smith Weaver was a passenger in a Toyota Avalon headed east in the 9200 block of East Old Spanish Trail about 6:40 p.m. when police say the driver of a westbound silver Mazda 3 sedan swerved into oncoming traffic, police said in a news release.
The Mazda slammed head-on into the Toyota near South Gollob Road, killing Weaver.
The driver of the Mazda was determined to be impaired and will face charges related to the crash after being released from the hospital, the news release said.
