A pursuit that started Thursday morning on Interstate 19 near Green Valley ended in a fatal crash in Nogales, authorities say.
About 8 a.m. Thursday a trooper tried to stop a vehicle on suspicion of a criminal speeding violation near kilometer 56, in Green Valley, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The driver refused to stop and continued to speed south in the interstate.
The driver lost control of the vehicle near kilometer 2 in Nogales, rolling multiple times.
The unidentified driver, the sole passenger, was killed in the wreck, DPS said.
The interstate was closed for hours.
The incident remains under investigation.
