Two Tucson firefighters escaped a knife-wielding patient after responding to a call for medical help Sunday.
The Tucson Fire Department responded to the call on the 300 block of East Roger Road around 3 p.m. and found the patient was agitated and aggressive, the department said in a news release.
The patient threatened them with a knife and the firefighters called Tucson police. The man was secured by police.
The firefighters avoided being injured by the knife, but they sustained other non-life threatening injuries. They were taken to a hospital and released. The patient also was taken to the hospital.
