Joseph Anderson

Sierra Vista police arrested a third suspect Wednesday night in an ongoing investigation into an identity theft and fraud ring, officials said.

39-year-old Joseph Anderson was arrested after police served a search warrant at a hotel in the 1800 block of Wilcox Drive, where they also found evidence of methamphetamine use, said Sierra Vista Police Department spokesman, Corporal Tim Wachtel.

Anderson was booked into the Cochise County jail on charges of fraudulent schemes, credit card theft, identity theft and four counts of forgery, Wachtel said.

He's being held on a $25,000 bond.

Sierra Vista police arrested Shannon Huston, 24, and Deanna Russell, 18, in December, in connection with the same investigation, Wachtel said.

Huston and Russell are facing charges related to forging and cashing stolen bank checks that were stolen from Sierra Vista mailboxes.

Sierra Vista police are asking anyone with information about any individuals involved in stealing mail or committing fraud, forgery or identity theft to come forward.
