A 21-year-old man died from injuries he suffered when he fell off a moving vehicle that was driven by a friend in the Rita Ranch area.

Tyler Lee Grow died Oct. 6 at Banner-University Medical Center Tucson, four days after the incident, according to a post on Tucson Police Department's Facebook page Friday night.

According to the post:

Investigators learned that Grow suffered serious injuries after falling off the vehicle and friends drove him to Northwest Emergency Center in Rita Ranch.

Grow was then moved to Banner-University Medical Center Tucson for treatment.

Traffic investigators are continuing the investigation. The exact location of the incident is still uncertain. At this time, no citations have been issued.

The incident was first reported to Pima County Sheriff deputies when Grow died at the hospital. Deputies were told that Grow was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Mount Lemmon.

As deputies interviewed friends and witnesses, they determined Grow fell off the moving vehicle in the Rita Ranch area, which is within the jurisdiction of TPD.

Anyone with information is asked to call 88-CRIME.

Since January there have been 43 fatalities in the city, the same number as last year to date, according to police data.
