An 18-year-old man involved in a Wednesday night domestic violence standoff was arrested by police Thursday morning when he returned home.
Richard Ramos was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of domestic violence/aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.
No one was injured during the arrest or Wednesday night standoff.Β
Shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1700 block of North Fifth Avenue after two brothers had an argument, and one retrieved a rifle, Bay said.
Family members called 911 and exited the house and told police that they believed Ramos, who was armed, was still inside the house.
Officers evacuated houses in the midtown neighborhood.
Hostage negotiators and the Special Weapons and Tactics team responded and for several hours tried to convince Ramos to come out of the house, said Bay.
When officers entered the house, no one was inside, Bay said.
She said about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a family member called police and reported that Ramos had returned and was inside the house. Officers responded and took Ramos into custody.
