Police have identified the 40-year-old pedestrian killed in a car crash Thursday near the Greyhound bus station downtown.
James Michael Reinhardt's next of kin have been notified, and an autopsy was taking place Friday to help determine the exact cause of death,Β aid Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
Shortly after 7 a.m. people walking by the bus station, located at 471 West Congress Street, noticed an unresponsive person and called 911, Dugan said.
The Tucson Fire Department came out and pronounced the adult male dead.
Traffic detectives responded and saw that the victim had obvious signs of trauma from being hit by a car. At this time, the driver and vehicle involved in the crash are unknown, Dugan said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
