β€’ Last week’s recipient: Jan Norbury.

β€’ Nominated by: Pam Duchaine.

β€’ Why: Norbury is the manager of two bookstores run by the Friends of the Green Valley and Sahuarita libraries. She has been instrumental in many activities for the group, which uses proceeds from the book sales to help the libraries and also funds scholarships at the University of Arizona School of Library Science. Norbury has led many successful efforts for the group, including setting up a second branch bookstore and organizing internet sales. She started a teacher book giveaway, which provides teachers in the area with children’s books. She started special book sales that have become much-anticipated events and has helped train volunteers while running the day-to-day operations of the bookstores. Norbury is retiring and will be greatly missed, wrote Duchaine in her nomination letter.
