Democratic National Committee is asking southern Arizona residents to put pressure on Sens. John McCain and Jeff Flake to vote against the proposed GOP tax cut.

Telephones across southern Arizona might receive a call today from the Democratic National Committee, asking them to put pressure on Sens. John McCain and Jeff Flake to vote against the proposed GOP tax cut.

The DNC is also putting out ads on Facebook targeting McCain and Flake, with Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez calling the Republican-backed tax cut a scam "that will raise taxes for millions of hardworking middle-class families and drastically cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and education funding."

The robocalls started last night and the ads are expected to continue throughout the week.

Here's the script:

“Hi, I’m Tom Perez – chairman of the Democratic National Committee and former Secretary of Labor under President Barack Obama.

Republicans are trying to pass a disastrous tax plan that will raise taxes for millions of hardworking middle-class families and drastically cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and education funding.

Call Senator [NAME] RIGHT NOW at (202) 224-3121 and tell them you oppose this giant giveaway to wealthy corporations and the top 1%.

Together, we can stop this GOP tax scam.

Thank you and God bless.”

Paid for by the Democratic National Committee, 877-336-7200. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.”
