With dozens of Tucson eateries coming and going in 2016, it was a lively year in the restaurant scene. If history stands true, 2017 should be no different.

But before we launch into a new year of food, let's take a minute to reflect on what one website says are 2016's Top 10 restaurants with the best food in Tucson.

Gayot: The Guide to the Good Life is an internationally renowned website, offering reviews on dining, drinks, hotels, events and more.

So how did Gayot's experts pick Tucson's 10 best of 2016?

"When it comes to reviewing and recommending restaurants, we believe that what is on the plate is by far the most important factor," according to the post. "We rate the food on a 20-point scale, the same used for students in France."

Restaurants that made the list include CORE Kitchen and Wine Bar, Feast, Maynard's Market and Yoshimatsu.

Check out the rest of Gayot's picks here, along with tips on dishes, drinks, ambiance and decor for each restaurant.
