A toy drive will be held Saturday at the Walmart at 8280 N. Cortaro Road.

The Salvation Army will be registering 1,500 needy families on Saturday, Nov. 4, to receive Christmas toys for their children.

The agency said families interested in signing up for the Christmas assistance program can start lining up at 6 a.m. at the Hospitality House, 1002 N. Main Ave.

There, they will receive one ticket per family that will allow any child 12 and younger in the family to receive a gift.

The tickets will give application instructions for families that detail what is needed to enroll in the toy program. Families with tickets will return at a later date to complete the registration.

Toys will be distributed to registered children of the 1,500 families closer to Christmas. All the toys distributed are donated by the Tucson community.

The Salvation Army asks that those interested in getting a ticket not to line up before 6 a.m. Saturday.

The agency will distribute the tickets from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and is expected to hand out all the tickets by 11 a.m.
