A 69-year-old woman was struck and killed Tuesday night while crossing South Houghton Road in Vail, officials say.
Eileen Wood was stuck about 7:20 p.m. as she and her husband were making their way across the street in the 15000 block of South Houghton Road near East Sahuarita Road, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said Friday in a news release.
Wood died at the crash scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
