A fire destroyed a mobile home near East Golf Links Road and South Camino Seco early this morning, fire officials said.

According to the Tucson Fire Department, it took 18 minutes, 12 units, and 27 firefighters to get the fire under control.

A grandmother and her grandson were able to escape the fire without injury. All other mobile homes in the area were OK, officials said.

TFD officials said that the two residents were able to escape the fire with the help of recently-installed smoke alarms.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
