Authorities rescued an injured hiker in the area of Tanque Verde Falls Friday, according to Rural Metro firefighters.Β
Firefighters, as well as search and rescue crews, had to hike for around 45 minutes to reach the woman, a department release said.Β
The hiker was injured during a fall and possibly fractured her leg, the department said.Β
The patient was airlifted out of the canyon and was taken to the hospital.Β
No other information was available.Β
