Caregiving

We still have lots of space for this Saturday’s free PRIMEtime Tours of two Green Valley assisted-living facilities: The Villas at Green Valley and Arroyo Gardens.

Readers can request a seat by going online to Tucson.com/tours or by calling 573-4330. The Gray Line Tours bus will depart the Arizona Daily Star, 4850 S. Park Ave., at 8 a.m. and return about 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided free.

For nearly a decade, the Pima Council on Aging (PCOA) and the Arizona Daily Star have partnered for PRIMEtime, a newspaper section that represents the only resource guide of its kind to present housing options, and the PCOA Community Services Directory for adults and caregivers.

“PCOA is delighted to contribute to the new venture, PRIMEtime Tours, starting with a visit to two Green Valley assisted-living centers,” said Adina Wingate, PCOA’s director of marketing and public relations. “The tour offers a great way to visit different types of housing, get a customized walking tour at each facility and receive accurate information about how to select residential care.”

More than 300 retirement, assisted-living and skilled nursing facilities across the spectrum of residential care are available in Pima County. PCOA’s programs and services also include advocacy on behalf of residents at facilities.

Dates for subsequent PRIMEtime Tours covering other facilities have not been set.
