Passports

If you’re in need of a passport but haven’t had time in the busy work week to get one, now’s your chance.

The University of Arizona will host a β€œPassport Day” this Saturday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments aren’t necessary.

Those interested in applying should bring:

  • A recent color photo sized 2-by-2 inches, though photo services will be on site for $10.
  • A check or money order for application fees, per the U.S. Department of State. UA accepts checks, money orders, and debit or credit cards for processing and photo fees.
  • Proof of identification and citizenship if you’re applying for the first time. Original or certified documentation should be shown, in addition to photocopies.

Plus, to help battle a potentially long wait, a new passport kiosk is available for applicants. The kiosk was developed by students through a program designed for undergraduates looking for technology-focused careers.

When signing into the kiosk, you’re given an estimated wait time enabled with email or text notifications. That means your spot is reserved, even if you leave the office β€” though the UA says it’s always good to remember that lines can move faster than expected.

β€œPassport Day” will be held at 935 N. Tyndall Avenue, near East First Street. For fees and other information, visit tucne.ws/113b.
