Republican U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani’s lead increased again Saturday over Democratic challenger Kirsten Engel in the Tucson area’s 6th congressional district race.
Ciscomani had 49.2% of the votes tallied so far to Engel’s 48.5%, and a 2,415-vote lead. Vote counting continues and the race is too close to call.
The two have been swapping slim leads in their rematch. Ciscomani narrowly defeated Engel, a former state senator, in the district two years ago.
In the race for Arizona’s open U.S. Senate seat, Democratic U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego held his lead Saturday despite Republican Kari Lake gaining some ground.
By Saturday evening, Lake trailed Gallego by 32,252 votes. Gallego’s margin had been just over 50,000 votes on Thursday.

Saturday did bring a lead change in one close race, as Republican former state senator Vince Leach pulled ahead of Democrat John McLean for Senate in the Tucson-area Legislative District 17.
Leach was up by 396 votes, with 50.2% of the ballots counted so far to McLean’s 49.8%, though McLean had led until now.
The tightest race in Pima County is for the District 4 seat on the Board of Supervisors.
Steve Christy, the sole Republican on the board, who is seeking his third term, leads Democrat Vanessa Bechtol by 3,035 votes as of Saturday afternoon. Christy had received about 51.5% of votes counted.
