Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz stand on stage during a rally last month in Glendale with Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., and his wife former Rep. Gabby Giffords. Walz is making a solo campaign visit to Arizona next week.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic nominee for vice president, is making a solo trip to Phoenix next week.

Walz will visit Arizona on the same day as the first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. It is part of several campaign stops in Texas and Nevada.

Walz is set to arrive at Sky Harbor International Airport Tuesday morning and will join β€œpolitical engagements” in Phoenix, a Harris-Walz campaign news release said.

He also is to speak at a political event later in the day, the release said.

It says Walz β€œwill draw contrast with Donald Trump and JD Vance’s dark and dangerous Project 2025 agenda that raises costs on families and attacks our rights and freedom.”

Harris and Walz held a rally last month in Glendale.

Vance spent two days campaigning in Phoenix this week. He also recently toured the border in a Cochise County campaign stop. Trump also visited the same border site last month.
