Democratic challenger Kirsten Engel is up by 209 votes over Republican U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani as counties continue to tally votes.ย

After trailing Engel in early results from Tuesday's election, Ciscomani had taken a 1,600-vote lead by Thursday afternoon, but that shrunk until she retook the lead Thursday night.ย ย

With many votes left to count in the district, the race is too close to call.ย

The swing district, which includes portions of the Tucson area, has voters in five counties: Pima, Cochise, Graham, Greenlee and Pinal.ย

Unofficial results fare being posted and updated on the Arizona Secretary of Stateโ€™s Officeโ€™sย results page.

Engel is a former state senator who was narrowly defeated by Ciscomani in the same district two years ago.
