The race in the Tucson area’s Congressional District 6 was still too close to call, with Republican Rep. Juan Ciscomani holding onto a narrow lead over Democratic challenger Kirsten Engel.
As of Sunday afternoon, Ciscomani’s lead was 1,230 votes, giving him 49% of the votes tallied so far to Engel’s 48.7%, with ballots still to be counted.
The swing district elected Ciscomani to his first term in Congress two years ago in a similarly close race against Engel, a former state senator.
In another close contest in the Tucson area, Republican Vince Leach clung to a 304-vote lead over Democrat John McLean in the state Senate race in Legislative District 17.

Leach, a former state senator, had 50.1% of the votes counted so far to McLean’s 49.9%.
The tightest race for Pima County offices is for the District 4 seat on the Board of Supervisors.
Steve Christy, the sole Republican on the board, who is seeking his third term, led Democrat Vanessa Bechtol by 3,109 votes as of Sunday afternoon.
Christy had received about 51.5% of votes counted.
