Sadly, it is probably too good to be true that Mr. Bean is running for Congress.Β

Candidate paperwork filed with the Federal Election Commission lists a Mr. Rowan Bean, who shares the same name as actor Rowan Atkinson, as independent candidate. Atkinson famously played Mr. Bean for a number of years but announced he wanted to retire the candidate in 2012.

Sadly, the filing with the FEC to run in Congressional District 2 contradicts the famous and fictional Mr. Bean, who lists his first name as "Mr." and his last name as "Bean" inΒ this short video.

The independent campaign has largely gone dark since the paperwork was filed in October.

Multiple e-mails sent to Mr. Bean's campaign manager, Jeffery Parker, have not been returned.Β

Sadly, as the campaign of Deez Nuts proves, anyone can file paperwork with the FEC.

The 15-year-old from Iowa was able to file the paperwork to run for President, but the Constitution requires candidates be at least 35 to run for office.
