KUAZ radio, part of Arizona Public Media and an NPR affiliate, is debuting several new shows this weekend.
If you're an avid KUAZ listener, be aware that some of your favorites may not be broadcasting at their normal times due to the add-ons.
The new shows, which air on 89.1, are as follows:
- The Daily, 3:30 p.m. weekdays – Powered by the New York Times' newsroom, tells "the biggest stories of our time," according to the Arizona Public Media website
- Hidden Brain, 12 p.m. Saturdays – A science-driven talk about patterns that influence human behavior
- Planet Money and How I Built This, 2 p.m. Saturdays – Discusses the economy and features entrepreneurs, innovators, and idealists
- American Routes, 6 p.m. Saturdays – Ventures into the music that contributes to American culture and diversity
- Freakonomics Radio, 12 p.m. Sundays – Discusses unrelated things that are actually intertwined. The website says they will discuss "weird wrinkles of human nature" such as cheating and crime, to parenting and sports.
- It's Been A Minute, 2 p.m. Sundays – Discusses news, culture, and everything in between.
- Travel With Rick Steves, 7 p.m. Sundays – Interviews with travel writers and authors about interesting places
