Alyx Dote will be promoted to weekday morning news anchor for "News 4 Tucson Today" at KVOA-TV/News 4 Tucson, the NBC affiliate announced today.
Dote currently co-anchors News 4 Tucson weekend newscasts. She will co-anchor "News 4 Tucson Today" newscasts each weekday 5-7 a.m. with Sean Mooney.
Before joining KVOA-TV/News 4 Tucson in June, 2016, as a reporter/multi-media journalist, Dote reported news for KRCR-TV (ABC) in Chico, CA. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Dote was promoted to weekend news anchor in August, 2017.
"Alyx is a natural for our morning anchor chair," said KVOA-TV News Director, Cathie Batbie. "She has filled-in recently and built a great on-air rapport, not only with her co-anchors, but the audience loves her as well."

Dote will officially take over the morning Anchor chair on Wednesday, March 14.
