The May Day Coalition plans a rally this afternoon in downtown Tucson to support the statewide walkout by Arizona educators.

The annual rally by labor and social justice groups will focus much of the attention at this year’s gathering to the #Redfored movement.

Teachers across Arizona have been on strike since Thursday, resulting in the shutdown of most public schools.

May 1, is International Worker's Day

The rally begins at 4 p.m. at Armory Park, across from the Tucson children’s Museum, in the 200 block of South Sixth Avenue. It will included a march from the park to the state building downtown, before returning to the park for speakers, food, and music until it ends at 7 p.m., organizers say.
