Owners closing Mabel's on North Fourth, expanding Rosie's Barkét

Mabel’s on 4th arrived nearly two years ago after originating in Savannah, Georgia.

Mabel’s on 4th has one last hurrah planned before it closes its doors forever this weekend.

On Saturday, the kitchen boutique store at 419 N. Fourth Ave., will hold an “Adios Party,” complete with drinks, tamales and deep discounts on all of its remaining merchandise.

Owners Nicole and Johnny Carrillo announced on Facebook in June that the shop, which opened two years ago in Tucson and operated prior to that in Savannah, Georgia, would shutter so that the Carrillos can focus on their other retail space, Rosie’s Barkét at 327 E. Seventh St.

Rosie’s sells specialty treats, toys and other accessories for dogs and has been a popular venture for the couple.

The Adios Party runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is free.
