TUCSON, Ariz. — A man involved in a Tucson car crash that killed a young woman in 2016 has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison and six years of probation.
Pima County Superior Court officials say Philipe Antonio De La Rosa was sentenced to 12 ½ years on a manslaughter charge, eight years for aggravated assault and 2 ½ years on an endangerment charge.
The sentences will run concurrently.
At the time of the October 2016 crash, Tucson police say De La Rosa showed signs of driving while intoxicated.
Police say De La Rosa's vehicle crossed the median and struck another car head-on.
They say 19-year-old Gisela Puerta of Tucson was killed and her passenger was seriously injured.
