Brandon Wade Rucker

Marana police have identified the man fatally shot during a confrontation with police Thursday night.

Brandon Wade Rucker, 43, was armed with a gun when police went to The Springs apartment complex, 7901 N. Cortaro Rd., at about 10 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute, Marana Police Department spokesman, Sgt. Chriswell Scott, said in a news release.

After a confrontation, an officer fired at the man, Scott said.

Officers and Northwest Fire paramedics rendered first aid, but the man died at the scene.

His identity of the man who was shot and killed was being withheld Thursday morning until next of kin can be notified, Scott said.

Detectives are investigating the incident, and more information will be provided after they speak to the involved officers and known witnesses, Scott said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Marana police at 382-2000 or 88-CRIME, an anonymous tipster hotline.Β
