The Marana City Council named Terry Rozema as town manager on Tuesday.

Arizona Game and Fish Department Tucson did a survey of the Silver Bell Mountains, west of Marana, recently and saw more than 160 bighorn sheep and one mountain lion. "The herd there is the largest among four ranges in the Tucson area, which now has more than 400 bighorns in part because of translocations," the department said, adding that the state's bighorn population has grown from 1,500 in 1957 to 6,000 today. Rozema, the town’s former police chief, replaces Jamsheed Mehta, who resigned in October.

Under his employment agreement, Rozema will receive benefits such as a town vehicle and six months severance pay should his employment end. His annual base salary will be $200,000.
