March is set to bust all the high-temperature records, despite a cool-down starting Wednesday, March 22.
The National Weather Service Office in Tucson issued some early “March madness” stats Tuesday.
The average temperature for the month so far is 69.3 — more than 10 degrees higher than normal. The weather service said this March will likely be the warmest average on record, exceeding the 66.7 in 2004.
March 2017 has had 14 consecutive days (March 8 to March 21) with high temperatures 15 degrees or more above normal.
The high temperature was at least 90 degrees on 10 days.
Change comes Wednesday night with cooler temperatures, gusty winds and showers in the forecast. The predicted high for Thursday in Tucson is 68 degrees. It will begin to warm up Friday through the weekend.
