Arizona's top law enforcer is seeking the public's help to track down a drug trafficker arrested in Tucson in 2016.
Antonio Quintero-Ayon, 22, was convicted in absentia by a Pima County jury last week for transporting 8.5 pounds of methamphetamine, and for conspiracy and conducting a criminal enterprise, said Mia Garcia, a spokeswoman for Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich.
He faces five to 15 years in prison, and has yet to be sentenced.
Quintero-Ayon hasn't been seen since late 2016 when he was pulled over in a Ford Escape on westbound Interstate 10 near Tangerine Road. He hasn't shown up for subsequent court hearings and was a no-show at his trial, Garcia said.
Arizona state troopers found more than $25,000 of methamphetamine hidden in the car, she said. Quintero-Ayon was released from Pima County Jail after posting a $10,00 bond.
