An 89-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday, 10 days after he was critically injured in a crash on East Catalina Highway, Tucson police said.

The Tucson Police Department gave the following account:

Gerald Kroninger was traveling south on East Catalina Highway about 3:40 p.m. Dec. 20 on his 2006 Kawasaki VN900.

As he approached East Dawn Post Road, a Dodge Ram 1500 pulled out from a private driveway, attempting to make a left-hand turn, and struck Kroninger.

Kroninger was taken to a hospital, where he died Tuesday.Β 

The Ram’s 41-year-old driver was cited for failure to yield from a private drive.

As a result of the death, the TPD Traffic Investigations Unit will review the collision investigation.
