Tucson gets a taste of its halcyon days as a TV and movie location when former members of "The High Chaparral" gather for a reunion at Old Tucson Studios, 201 S. Kinney Road.
Cast members scheduled to attend include Henry Darrow (Manolito Montoya), Don Collier (Sam Butler), Bob Hoy (Joe Butler), Ted Markland (Reno), Rudy Ramos (Wind), Neil Summers (stuntman), and Kent and Susan McCray (producer and casting).
The 1967-71 series, which aired on NBC, followed Leif Erickson's character, Arizona Territory rancher Big John Cannon, as he built his cattle empire and guarded against attacks from Indians.
The show was filmed at Old Tucson. Erickson died in 1986.
The event, which includes autographs, meet-and-greet and a panel discussion, goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Old Tucson, with a two-hour break for lunch from noon to 2 p.m. Adult general admission to the park today is $16.95.
