At least six structures were lost Monday in a Bisbee wildfire, but officials reported Tuesday morning that the fire was well-contained and did not grow overnight.

As of 6 a.m., the wildfire in Bisbee had burned five acres, but crews have stopped forward progress of the fire, said Carol Capas, a Cochise County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

Fire crews advised officials that they monitored the area all night and plan to hit the fire that remains very hard before winds pick up again, Capas said.

Of the six structures that were destroyed, at least four were vacant.

No injuries have been reported in the blaze, which started as a house fire shortly after 5 p.m. in Old Bisbee, before spreading to nearby brush.

Although evacuation shelters were in place, none were needed Monday night, Capas said.

Bisbee is about 90 miles southeast of Tucson.
