An incident Thursday evening resulted in an officer being involved in a shooting, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman says.
"There are no injuries reported and no suspects outstanding," said spokesman Deputy Keith Bee in an email shortly before 9 p.m.
No other details were immediately released.
The Pima Regional Critical Incident Team, which investigates such shootings, was activated, Bee said earlier in a 7:20 p.m. news release.
Law enforcement officials scheduled a media briefing at a site on the Tucson area's far southeast side near East Old Spanish Trail and South Galileo Lane, near Vail, an indication the incident took place nearby.
