A 65-year-old man was shot and wounded early Thursday by an ATF agent during the service of an arrest warrant for violation of federal firearm and explosive laws, officials say.

The man was identified as Chris Snow, according to department spokesman Deputy James Allerton.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department is investigating the shooting that happened about 5 a.m. in the 12700 block of North Antelope Road, near North Trico Road and West Avra Valley Road.

No agents were injured.

Snow was taken to a hospital, but his injuries have been described as not  life-threatening, said Allerton.

Allerton said early today that he had no information about the circumstances that led to the shooting.
