The Pima Animal Care Center is inviting Tucsonans to participate in a “labor of love” by signing up to be volunteers for its Labor Day dog walk.

PACC is looking for up to 200 volunteer dog walkers for the event, which runs from 7 to 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 4, according to a news release. Anyone over the age of 15 can register online at tucne.ws/oif

Registration will end once 200 participants have signed up or by Friday, Sept. 1. Interested volunteers are advised not to wait to sign up, as the spots fill up quickly, the release said.

The PACC is encouraging volunteers to bring water and wear close-toed shoes, and dress in clothes they don’t mind getting dirty.

Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m., at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, and the dog walk will begin by 7. To expedite the check-in process, volunteers are asked to fill out their waivers ahead of time by visiting tucne.ws/oig

Because of construction of the PACC’s new facility, volunteers are encouraged to park anywhere they can, including Christopher Columbus Park, next to the shelter.
