Tucson Electric Power crews restored electricity to about 6,000 customers on the northwest side by 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The outages were within the boundaries of Tangerine Road on the north to North Camino de Oeste on the west to Overton Road on the south to North Oracle Road on the east.ย 

Tucson reached a daily record high Wednesday of 115 degrees by 3:31 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

That breaks the previous record for this date of 112, set in 1988 and tied in 1990.

This is the third straight day of 115-plus degrees in Tucson.
