A public memorial will be held Saturday, May 14, for Ann Day, a former state senator and county supervisor who was killed this weekend in a car crash.

The memorial is at 10 a.m. at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park, 3482 E. River Road.

Day worked with the Fenton family to develop the park through a public-private partnership, according to Pima County’s Facebook page.

The sister of former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Day was a state senator for 10 years and a supervisor for Pima County’s District 1 for 12 years.

Day was killed in a head-on wreck Saturday on Tucson’s northwest side. The driver of the other vehicle has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and driving under the influence.
