Monsoon 2018

Rainy weather continues to work its way through the Tucson area and is expected to last into early next week, the National Weather Service in Tucson says.

It's said to be from a Pacific storm system moving in from the southwest of Tucson.

Expect showers to continue into the evening Saturday with a low of 56 degrees by night. Then expect the rain to reboot in the morning.

Northwest Fire District officials said Saturday's rain is causing problems on Interstate 10 with two separate accidents near Avra Valley and Twin Peaks.

But the region is still "buzzing" even with the gloomy weather, as Tucson Meet Yourself and the Oro Valley Music Festival, are not cancelling their long-awaited events.

"Sunday will certainly be the better of the two days for outdoor activities this weekend," the weather service said.
