Pima County Animal Care Center

Those interested in being dog walkers on New Yearโ€™s Day for a Pima Animal Care Center event must register Wednesday, Dec. 30.

A volunteer waiver form can be found under the volunteer section at Holiday Dog Walk RSVP at the countyโ€™s animal care center website.

Participants must be 16 years old to walk a dog on their own, or accompanied by an adult if between 11 to 15, officials said. The dog walk is from 10 a.m. to noon at 4000 N. Silverbell Road.

โ€œWe love it when our community comes out to support our pets,โ€ Karen Hollish, the centerโ€™s director of development and marketing, said in a news release.

After the event, the center will host free adoptions from noon to 3 p.m. on all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens, organizers said. A $16 licensing fee will apply to all adult dogs.
