A man suffered life-threatening injuries in a vehicle crash on Tucson's east side Friday night, officials said.

The crash occurred before 9:30 p.m. on Rita Road, between Interstate 10 and Old Vail Road.

The other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson police spokesman.

The road was reopened shortly before midnight.
