Get ready for some fun: The University of Arizona's 43rd annual Spring Fling returns next weekend, bringing an anticipated 35,000 people onto campus.
This year's student-run carnival will feature more than 40 rides, games and food booths, with more than 30 student clubs involved, according to a UA news release.
Spring Fling, which collects donations for organizations and raises fund for student clubs, will kick off April 7 at 4 p.m., and rock band We The Kings will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.
Other performers include The Faultlines Band, the Black N Blue Crew, Saguaro Stompers and the Heart and Soul Dance Group.
The Spring Fling team will also be collecting canned goods for the UA Campus Pantry, which addresses food insecurity at UA, and book donations will be accepted to benefit local children's literacy program the Reading Seed.
Next Saturday and Sunday, Kids Korner returns with presentations and activities for the youngsters, led by members of Solar Cats, Students for Sustainability and more.
Admission is $5 to the general public, but anyone with a UA CatCard and military identification (as well as children age 7 and younger) will be admitted for free.
Spring Fling operating hours are (admission closes one hour before closing time):
- Friday, April 7: 4-11 p.m.
- Saturday, April 8: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Sunday, April 9: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
