Law and order

A Sierra Vista woman was arrested Friday on multiple charges, after the investigation into a stolen vehicle led police to a marijuana grow operation in her home, officials said.

Christian Flores, 22, was booked into the Cochise County jail on charges of theft of a means of transportation, theft, forgery, fraudulent schemes and artifices, trafficking in stolen property, false reporting to law enforcement, production of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Sierra Vista Police Department news release.

On August 3, a Sierra Vista woman reported that her 1995 Chevrolet Blazer was missing from the 3000 block of El Mercado Loop, the release said.

Later that day, police recovered the vehicle in Douglas from a resident who said they bought the SUV from a Sierra Vista woman, who police later identified as Flores.

At about 8 a.m. Friday, police served a search warrant at Flores' home, located in the 300 block of Pine Tree Drive, and discovered evidence related to the stolen vehicle investigation, as well as an illegal marijuana grow operation, the release said.

Flores was arrested later that morning and booked into jail. She has since been released.
