Cool, sparkling chardonnay Shabbat services are returning to Temple Emanu-El.

Beginning at 5 p.m. Fridays, congregants, visitors and guests will meet to socialize with friends and family members and enjoy a cool glass of wine or juice and nosh on fruits and cheeses. Then at 5:45 p.m., Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon, Rabbi Batsheva Appel and cantorial soloist Marjorie Hochberg usher in the Jewish Sabbath with musical Kabbalat Shabbat services. This will be the temple’s Friday evening schedule through Aug. 29.

All are welcome to attend, and there is no charge. Temple Emanu-El is at 225 N. Country Club Road, just north of Broadway. For more information, call 327-4501.
