Gretchen Regan (Miss Paraphernalia) said of her paper dress: "it's fire proof and water proof," as she danceed barefoot on a table during opening night at Paraphernalia boutique in Broadway Village, Tucson, on Feb. 1, 1967.

"The Bo Street Runners rocked on the roof and the models boog-a-looged on a runway as fashionable Tucsonans got their first look at the mod, mod world of Paraphernalia, a new boutique, " according to theΒ Tucson Citizen coverage of theΒ Feb. 1, 1967 opening in Broadway Village shops.

"Buried in the midwestern snow for six days, the cool new fashions arrived only 30 minutes before showtime," the story continued.

The outfits were from Puritan Fashions Corp. Tucson and L.A. were the only cities west of Chicago to get a first-look.
