The Tucson Police Department is attempting to locate a woman who took her daughter away from a supervised visit Jan. 28, authorities said.

Jeannette McCann Lopez left with her 1-year-old daughter Jeannette Grado from the Murphy-Wilmot Library at 11:30 a.m. The Department of Child Safety has legal custody of Grado.

New information has led detectives to believe Grado is possibly in Mexico with her mother, the department said Friday.

Police have an active arrest warrant due to Lopez's felony custodial interference, a news release said.

Lopez is described as a Hispanic female, 5-feet-7 inches tall, 160 pounds with hazel eyes and red hair that has been dyed.

She is also five months pregnant and last seen wearing a purple long sleeve shirt, blue jeans and a floral-designed backpack.

Her daughter is described as a Hispanic female with short, curly brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink and white long sleeve shirt, jean jacket with pink trim, blue jeans and pink and white shoes that light up.

Anyone with information on their location is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
