STK emergency

A 60-year-old man died two days after Tucson police say he stepped in front of a motorcycle late Saturday on West Fort Lowell Road.

Wayne Aaron Kimball was struck 11:50 p.m. after he stepped off a curb into the path of a motorcycle that was headed east on Fort Lowell just west of North Balboa Avenue, police said Tuesday in a news release. Police were notified Monday that Kimball had died.

The 65-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured when police say he was thrown from the bike trying to avoid the crash by swerving, the release said. The name of the motorcyclist was not released.

Investigators say the motorcyclist lacked to appropriate motorcycle endorsement and that Kimball had illegal drugs in his system.

The investigation continues.
