Members of the Tucson Fire Department and volunteers with Intuit Software teamed up Friday to install smoke alarms in residences on the southeast side.

Teams canvassed a mobile-home park in the 5600 block of South Country Club Road near East Drexel Road and installed the smoke alarms in homes where they were needed.

They also provided fire-prevention tips and fire-escape information to residents .

The event was made possible through a FEMA fire-prevention and safety grant that the Tucson Fire Department received, according to a news release from the department.
