A 7-year-old girl was fatally struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle in a mobile home community on Tucson's west side, police say.
About 5:30 p.m. Friday, Leilani Flores was riding north in the southbound lane in a mobile home park in the 1600 block of West Ajo when she was struck by a 2002 Chevy Tahoe, Tucson police said Sunday in a news release.
The girl was not wearing a helmet and might have had another child on the bicycle at the time, the release said.
The girl died at the hospital.
The driver, who was turning left, tried to help the girl and cooperated with police. There was no sign of impairment, the release said.
No charges have been filed. The case is still being investigated.
