Tucson hit a new record Monday with a high of 91 degrees set at 3:46 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
It broke the record of 89 degrees set on March 13, 2013, said Glenn Lader, a weather service meteorologist in Tucson.
An unusual high pressure is dominating the weather in the Southwest, resulting in temperatures above average and generally dry conditions.
The highs this week are expected in the low 90s with temperatures peaking at 93 degrees on Saturday. The lows are predicted to hit the mid-50s to high 50s.
